Hi everyone – hope your all well.
What a great start to the season – Fished with Ian & Paul on Friday, Stocky bay for just over two hours.
Two anglers had already landed fish on Montana fly, one reported having three fish on at same time and two occasions two fish on… we all landed fish too. I had six, (pretty good for a couple of hours fishing) one on a cormorant, then got snapped off (dodgy line) then landed another five on the Orange Siblyback sparkler —- I will show you next time you’re on the water or at our next fly-tying session on 13th March.
I have booked the room at Siblyback for Wednesday 13th (from 9.30am) so we can tie up some fly’s then try them on the water. (If you’re not a season permit holder then you will need to buy a fishing ticket if you’re planning to fish) I’m hoping its stocked again on this day – I do not have confirmation until night before.
other Dates – 7th April Snowbee team comp.
14th April Siblyback Taster Day – aimed at beginners and experienced fly fishers – have a go fly tying, casting lesson on the bank and then try on the water -please register with SWLT.
Hope to see a few of you on this day too. either helping out and / or having a go.
Did a patrol around lake today – 5 anglers on north shore all landed fish – Kennick killer, anything black and green were best flies,
Ian caught along two meadows and stocky bay again, so fish all around lake pretty much.
I think that’s about all for now – if you have any questions or ideas how to improve what we are doing please let me know….
Tight lines
Regards
Ron
