It is now only about 5 weeks until the start of the new Fishing season, with Season ticket holders able to fish the preview day on 28th February and the official start of the season a day later on 1st March.
A few timely reminders, firstly anyone considering buying a season ticket this year is well advised to get one before the end of January as South West Lakes Trust are offering the Earlybird discount of 15%. If you miss this offer, they are offering a 10% discount at the Roadford Fly Fair on Sunday 22nd Feb. Charles Jardine, Hywel Morgan and Shaun Leonard will be there on the day.
Club Members will again be entitled to a 10% discount on day permits this year.
Club memberships can be renewed any time from February 1st and why not renew at the AGM at Siblyback on Saturday 21st Feb at 3pm. From 10am the same day we are having a bank clearing working party. Last year both the bank clearing and AGM were very well attended, and a great chance to catch up before the start of the season.
This year we have organised 35 events so far for club members. A full list of the club events is listed under the ‘Events’ header.
The first competition of the season will be the Wes Ower Charity memorial competition on Sunday 8th March. This event was hugely popular last year and approximately £300 was raised for the Cornwall Air Ambulance. South West Lakes Trust have promised to provide a trophy and prize for the event.
