Wes Ower Memorial Charity Competition

Anglers must also be in possession of a SWLT 5 fish day permit or a relevant season ticket. Please note reception is poor on site and you will not be able to purchase the day permit on site.
Winner receives £200 SWLT Voucher and annual Trophy
- Registration will be from 0745 to 0830 in the site office adjacent to the old permit room car park. Tea/Coffee/biscuits available.
- Competition entry fee £10 (cash only) payable at registration
- Draw will be made for zones (A or B)
- Zone A is from water sports hut to hedge on opposite side (West Bank) includes Stocky Bay. Zone B includes Two Meadows, North Shore and part of West Bank.
- No fishing zones – infront of the Centre between hedges, from the dam, and nature reserve (from bird hide to line across to opposite bank)
- Briefing 8.45am
- Fishing from 0930 to 1230 in drawn zone. Half hour lunch and anglers to swap to other zone. Fish 1300 to 1600. Horn will sound at beginning and end of each session.
- Maximum of 4 fish per zone. Maximum 5 fish in total. When an angler has reached the limit for a zone or 5 fish he/she must stop fishing.
- All fish to be taken off site by anglers
- No Running – will be disqualified.
- Weigh-in at the Centre from 1600 to 1645
- Results in the centre building at 1700.
- Judges decision is final
Fishing Rules
Open Competition, any angler may enter.
- No angler to fish within 15m of another angler.
- Winner on the day is angler with the heaviest bag Maximum of five fish. In the event of a tie the angler with the heaviest fish wins.
- May have up to 3 rods set up but only use one at a time
- Use any line
- No more than 3 flies on a leader
- Only Rainbows or Blues count. All Browns must be returned
- Single hooks only, no doubles/trebles or tandem flies.
- Wading allowed up to thigh depth (must be visible gap above water surface)
- Fish hooked before the horn sounding the end of a session may be landed and count.
